The railroad arrived to the area in 1874, sparking yet another name change for this small town. The railroad reached a nearby town called Easley just two miles away, causing commerce and business to move from Pickensville to Easley. At this point, the infrastructure of Easley began to expand, as the construction of US-123 brought new business into the city.
