History
In the late 1760s, a Scottish man named Robert Walker arrived to the area from Pennsylvania, and opened a tavern shortly after. Walker eventually left to relocate in the West, but his home remained standing through the mid-20th century. There is not much historical information about this small town, but the Walkertown Area Historical Society offers books, tours, meetings and more, and is working to gather more information about the history of Walkertown.
